Because of the cost compared to other drip brew coffee makers, we wre ready to take this unit back at the slightest disapointment. But we've been pleased from the start. First, it does make a 10 cup pot quickly (3 minutes or so). Secondly, because the water goes through the grounds so quick, the flavor was noticeably more full and less bitter. Thirdly, the stainless steel carafe keeps the coffee steaming hot longer than the several we've tried over the years. Surprisingly, it even came with a supply of filters. No Regrets - money well spent

My husband Mark and I received this particular Bunn coffemaker for Christmas last year and although we are not strangers of Bunn machines (having owned one for the past 15 years) we eagerly set this one up and started enjoying the fact that it not only keeps the coffee hot but the flavour fresh. We also think the look is totally European and consider it's looks to be refreshing from the standard Mr. Coffee type machine. I would recommend this maker to anyone who enjoys a good cup of hot coffee and in fact am getting my sister and her husband one for Christmas this year!!

I know Bunn is usually very reliable when it comes to coffee makers, but with this one, I don't know what happened!! It's one of their most expensive home brew models, and if you ask me, it stinks! If you pour a cup right when it's brewed you have a piping hot cup, with mediocre flavor, if you wait more than 10 min. for your 2nd cup, it is cold and the flavor tastes like it's been sitting for hours. I am extremely disappointed with Bunn, and know they can do much better.

I like everything about this coffee maker EXCEPT the fact that the carafe doesn't keep the coffee hot for very long. I get up
before my wife and by 2 hours later, a pot of coffee (less my travel mug's worth) is pretty warm , but not hot. We love the "instant" hot water feature and that the brew cycle is so fast. Perhaps if there was a way to seal the lid after brewing, then the whole package would be complete. So, 4 stars and still
the best coffee maker we've owned so far.

The thermal pot didnt keep the coffee hot long enough. Seemed I had to drink it as fast as I could to have a hot cup of coffee. I assumed, I guess, thermal meant it kept the coffee hot longer than 15 minutes.

The Best Coffeemaker I've Ever Owned

At long last, I have a coffeemaker that is perfect! It's the best money I've ever spent. My primary reason for purchasing this coffeemaker is the speed with which it makes a pot of coffee: 3 minutes. Hubby and I drink a lot of coffee. There is nothing more irritating than waiting 10+ minutes for a pot of coffee to brew. The second reason I purchased this was the thermal caraffe. With our other coffeemakers, the coffee would become bitter and taste burned as the caraffe sat on the hot plate. Not so with this thermal caraffe.
I've owned MANY coffeemakers: Krups, Braun, Mr. Coffee, Black and Decker, Proctor Silex, Cuisinart, Kitchen Aid. Some of the pricier ones lasted only a few months before leakage would occur. Some caraffes dripped miserably when pouring from them. Some had so many "gadgets and idiosyncracies" they were absolutely miserable to use. Some were difficult to clean. Some had brittle caraffes. Some had brewing baskets that overflowed if the caraffe wasn't PERFECTLY in place. Some were simple, but absolutely the slowest to brew.
I'd avoided buying a Bunn in the past because they were downright UGLY. (I do have a bit of pride in how my kitchen looks.) But this thermal model with the chrome is quite attractive compared to their other coffeemakers.
It is a dream to use -extremely simple in its features. As mentioned by another reviewer: The wide opening on the caraffe makes it so easy to clean.
Just a note: "Aftermarket" filters aren't as deep as Bunn filters. In the instructions they cautioned against using any filters other than Bunn to avoid coffee grounds overflowing into the pot. I was unable to find Bunn filters for sale in any local stores so I ordered them from Bunn directly on-line. My carton of 1,000 filters arrived 3 days later. Now I have a lifetime supply. And with the 3-year manufacturer's warranty on the coffeemaker, I think I've FINALLY found a coffeemaker that I can live with the rest of my life.
IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THIS ONE, DON'T THINK TWICE ABOUT IT. THIS IS A "MUST HAVE" IF YOU LIKE EXCEPTIONAL COFFEE AND WANT IT FAST.

I have bought two Bunn coffee makers in the 90tys. I then bought a cheaper coffee maker. I can't be more upset at myself for not getting the Bunn. I love coffee, and I want it quick in the morning. I ordered the pot with the carafe this time, and can't wait to get it. If you're like me looking for a coffee maker and pause at the price, Don't...it's worth it.
